and said, “Prophesy to us, Christ! Who hit You?”
The men who were holding Jesus began to mock Him and beat Him.
Then some of them began to spit on Him. They blindfolded Him, struck Him with their fists, and said to Him, “Prophesy!”
As you come to Him, the living stone, rejected by men but chosen and precious in God’s sight,
And they began to salute Him: “Hail, King of the Jews!”
And those who passed by heaped abuse on Him, shaking their heads
They stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him.
And while their hearts were merry, they said, “Call for Samson to entertain us.” So they called Samson out of the prison
It was the day of Preparation for the Passover, about the sixth hour. And Pilate said to the Jews, “Here is your King!”
“Here comes that dreamer!” they said to one another.
The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns, set it on His head, and dressed Him in a purple robe.
