And to the day of his death, Samuel never again visited Saul. Samuel mourned for Saul, and the LORD regretted that He had made Saul king over Israel.
“I regret that I have made Saul king, for he has turned away from following Me and has not carried out My instructions.”
Then Saul stripped off his robes and also prophesied before Samuel. And he collapsed and lay naked all that day and nigh
Now the LORD said to Samuel, “How long are you going to mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? F
Oh, that my head were a spring of water, and my eyes a fountain of tears! I would weep day and night over the slain daug
And the LORD regretted that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.
For as I have often told you before, and now say again even with tears: Many live as enemies of the cross of Christ.
I look on the faithless with loathing because they do not keep Your word.
My eyes shed streams of tears because Your law is not obeyed.
I have deep sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart.
